I draw the ring shapes onto the wood using a template and a pencil. I have found that the best blade to use for this particular wood are the blades that I use for Faux Bone. The wood for the ring on the left was chosen because it shows a fabulous knot in the wood. It almost looks like some kind of fossil. I love the wood for the ring on the right because of the wonderful curved stripes on it. I am going to try an experiment on this ring – I’ll just have to see if it works. These rings need to be filed and sanded and generally tidied up. * I would like people to take note of the improvement in my sawing skills from my first attempt last week ;-) !!!*
